Admissions
Applicants need a high school diploma or GED to enroll in degree programs. Without one, you may attend as a non-matriculated student but lose financial aid eligibility.
An Individualized Education Program (IEP) diploma is not considered equivalent to a high school diploma by the New York State Education Department (NYSED). IEP diploma holders may attend as a non-matriculated student, but must earn a GED to gain full admission and aid eligibility.
Clinton offers open enrollment for non-nursing students, meaning you automatically qualify for admission if you hold a high school diploma or GED.
The Nursing Program is selective. If you are a current Clinton Community College student in a non-nursing major seeking admission into the nursing program, you should submit this application. All other interested students should apply using the SUNY Application.
Full-time students take anywhere from 12–18 semester credit hours per term.
Degree-seeking students must submit official transcripts from high school (or GED) and all prior colleges attended.

A felony conviction will not have an impact on your admission. Applicants who have been convicted of a felony no longer need to provide additional information for admissions purposes. You will need to provide this information only if you intend to register for an internship or clinical studies, which requires Supplemental Form F as well as a copy of your criminal record. Once we have received those documents, they will be considered by our Review Committee.
Applicants who have been dismissed from another college for disciplinary reasons must complete Supplemental Form D, which will be reviewed by the Admissions Review Committee.
